1 HOUR COMPLETE BODYWORK SESSION

Percussion massage – The session begins with percussion using the G5 GK3 massager. Percussion is performed over the paraspinal muscles and other major muscle groups with a variety of applicators.  Extra percussion is applied to injuries or problem areas. This is a very thorough process completely relaxing the entire body.  From the moment the percussion begins you will be transported to a world of comfort.  Percussion is applied to the muscles all around the spine, including the neck and shoulders, upper and middle back, lower back and hips, calves and knees, head and scalp, and the feet.

Assisted stretching – Neck, shoulders, hips, lower back, hamstring and other assisted stretches are performed.  This helps increase your range of motion and substantially releases stored tension. Bilateral symmetry and alignment is improved and a more normal posture is achieved.

Trigger point release –  Performed by contacting the trigger point directly by hand.  A trigger point is a localized spasm that feels like a “knot” which usually radiates referred pain or sensations with deep pressure. This technique contributes to your overall relaxation and your global release of tension. Caused by stress and misalignment, a trigger point can be a major cause of symptoms.

Manual therapy – performed by hand for soft tissue mobilization.  This is used to improve swelling, irritation, pain, stiffness and range of motion.  The neck and shoulders and the upper, middle and lower back are the areas that are commonly addressed, but the service is customized to you.

Cranial / Scalp – The skull is composed of 8 plate-like bones, connected with joints called “sutures” for their appearance. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) nourishes the brain and spinal cord and is circulated in the brain and spine as you move and breathe. The sutures are intimately involved with circulating CSF. Cranial technique improves the function of these sutures. This has a balancing and clearing effect for the entire body.  Muscular tension is held in the scalp area. Cranial work serves to release this tension, increasing your overall relaxation response. This also feels simply amazing.

Feet / Plantar Fascia – G5 GK3 percussion massage is performed to the bottoms of your feet several times during the session with various applicators. The reflexology points are stimulated and foot function is restored. The plantar fascia is mobilized, improving and preventing plantar fasciitis and other foot problems. The foot is the first contact with the ground and transfers forces upwards through the legs and into the spine and hips. Alignment problems as well as other foot and ankle problems can commonly affect these other areas and contribute to lower back or knee or hip pain. Such deep mobilization of the tissues of the foot and ankle helps maintain your overall health. Reflex points, which relate to all parts of the body can be found in the feet. These points respond to pressure, stimulating the body’s own natural healing process. Oh yes, it also feels simply wonderful.

Chiropractic Adjustment – The culmination of the complete bodywork session is the adjustment. Because of the hour of preparatory work, the adjustment is particularly powerful and effective.  Segments that are usually hard to mobilize move with ease because of the targeted bodywork described above.
